Appleworks Dictionary Database
Here is a fun way to work on definitions with your students. It’s an Appleworks definition database that allows them to enter-
- the word
- the definition
- their version of the definition
- a picture relating to the definition
- and some interesting facts or sites relating to the word.
An attempt at a funny definition for my own name is below but that might be a great hook for students. You might want to have their first assignment be the creation of a definition card for themselves.
